To get your bearings in Miami see the Miami Orientation Map, which is a downloadable pdf (note that it is arranged in landscape view). For Coconut Grove, here is the Coconut Grove Orientation Map. Here is an overview of the area’s restaurants and shops: Coconut Grove Restaurants and Shops.
The Miami International Airport (MIA) is the most convenient airport for Coconut Grove. The Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), about 30 miles north of MIA, is an option for those who fly on Southwest; it is also well-served by JetBlue.
From MIA to the Mutiny, taxi rates are $10 and up depending on traffic. Taxi rates from FLL to the Mutiny are more than $60. Uber rates can be substantially lower. Super Shuttle charges $15 for the first passenger and $8 for each additional passenger each way between MIA and the Mutiny. Please disregard the misinformation some Mutiny staff members are sharing with guests, claiming that there are no shuttles from MIA to the Mutiny. Just follow the link, and the Mutiny will come right up as one of the drop off locations as soon as you start typing it in.
Public transportation in South Florida is unreliable, inconvenient, and at times unsafe, and thus, best avoided.
For those renting cars the MIA Airport Station serves as a hub for car rentals. The airport is connected to the MIA Airport Station by an electronic train, the MIA People Mover.
